What is Weatherization? The U.S. Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program was created by Congress in 1976 under Title IV of the Energy Conservation and Production Act. The purpose of the Program is to increase the energy efficiency of dwellings owned or occupied by low-income persons.
Wisconsin’s Weatherization Program offers the following services, depending on the results of an energy audit, to qualified households: insulation, energy efficient lighting and appliances, heating system updates, water saving showerheads, air leakage reduction.
