Minor Home Repair Programs
CITY OF MADISON MINOR HOME REPAIR PROGRAM
The City of Madison Minor Home Repair Program offers low cost home repairs and accessibility modifications for qualified homeowners in the City of Madison.
All accepted applicants must pay for the full cost of materials and $10.00 per hour per crew person for labor.
After the homeowner is qualified, Project Home staff performs a Housing Quality Standards inspection on the home and gives the homeowner an estimate for the requested repairs.
The homeowner must pay 1/3 of the estimate before work begins and has 3 months to pay the remainder of the job cost once work is completed. Jobs must require at least 4 hours of labor time.
Examples of services include (no remodeling or new construction):
- Repairing or replacing leaky faucets & toilets
- Replacing a window or door
- Ramps and grab bars
QUALIFICATIONS
You must own and live in your own home.
Your home must be located in the City of Madison.
The property cannot be currently on the market to be sold, or be put on the market to be sold, within the next twelve (12) months.
Your home cannot exceed 95% of the Dane County Median Purchase Price for a home.
Single family home: $223,250
Your total gross household income cannot exceed 80% of the Dane County Median Income.

DANE COUNTY MINOR HOME REPAIR PROGRAM
The Dane County Minor Home Repair program is a grant program that makes minor repairs for qualified homeowners in Dane County.
After the homeowner has been qualified for the program, Project Home staff performs a Housing Quality Standards inspection.
Only items that fail the HQS inspection are eligible to be repaired. Health and safety repairs and code violations are given priority.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. LOCATION
Your home must be located in a participating municipality in Dane County to qualify.
Homes in the following municipalities are not eligible to be served through the program:
City of Madison, City of Edgerton, Village of Cottage Grove, Village of Dane, Village of Maple Bluff, and the Village of Mazomanie
2. INCOME
Your total gross household income cannot exceed 80% of the Dane County Median Income.

- The property cannot be in foreclosure, or going into foreclosure, within the next twelve (12) months.
