Sponsors Help Change Lives for Local Low-Income Families

Dave Stark presents a check to Susan Buzby (L), Project Home's Outreach Specialist, for low-income Home Repair programs. Jamie Roth from Hospice also receives a check.
Project Home's Hammer with a Heart home repair event (since 2002) and Paint-a-thon event (since 1989) mainly rely on support from local businesses and individuals to provide the needed funds to purchase building materials and services that are not donated. See the program pages for repair project details.
In early May each year, skilled and community volunteers provide free major repairs and maintenance to 7-10 homes of low-income homeowners in Dane County. The average repair project is valued at $12,000 per house. Project Home has great relationships with many suppliers and service providers for donated items like plumbing fixtures and flooring, but we must purchase basic materials like lumber, shingles, windows and doors.

In early August each year, our long running Paint-a-thon program has several professional painting crews and experienced community volunteers who paint between 8-12 homes to help low-income homeowners in Dane County. Each year, some of the houses have been cited by their municipalities often due to neighbor complaints. Project Home is pleased to help these families, their neighbors and the city departments with these issues that are too expensive for these homeowners to afford.
A variety of great recognition opportunities are available: television commercial, t-shirts, yard signs.
