Sponsors Help Change Lives for Local Low-Income Seniors and Families
Project Home's Hammer with a Heart home repair event (since 2002), relies on support from local businesses, foundations and individuals to provide the needed funds to purchase building materials and services that are not donated.
Each year, during Hammer with a Heart, skilled and community volunteers provide free home repairs and critical maintenance to 2-4 homes of low-income homeowners in Dane County. The average repair project is valued at $12,000 per house. Project Home has great relationships with many suppliers and service providers for donated items, but a number of materials (such as lumber, roofing supplies, windows and doors) still need to be purchased.
