Our Story
Prairie Crossing Apartments, 47 units of affordable housing in the Allied Drive neighborhood, was inspired by a needs assessment that Project Home conducted in the late 90’s. Project Home realized the need for housing and wanted to develop it in the Allied Drive area because neighborhood residents living there wanted a quiet and quality place to live. Prairie Crossing was developed through Section 42 tax credits and receives support from many sources, including the City of Madison, to do its work. We love being a part of this vibrant community.
There are market rate and Section 8 subsidized apartments for low-income individuals and families. It’s close to shopping, bus routes and a bike path. All 47 units have 2 bedrooms. Rent is $825 per month, which includes heat and water. The security deposit is $500.
Qualified tenants’ incomes must be at or below 60% of county median income level.
